1. Keep your leg elevated for the first 24 hours to minimize discomfort, bleeding and swelling. Remove the dressing the day after your surgery. Soak your foot in warm water and Epsom Salt for 10 minutes once daily for 5 days (Add 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt to a large pan/bowl of water). Redress your wound(s). Some minimal drainage/bleeding is expected in the first 3 to 4 days following surgery.
2. When redressing your wound(s), apply sparingly any of these antibiotic ointments:
Bacitracin
Neosporin
Triple Antibiotic
3. Redress wound(s) with either 2x2 or 4x4 inch gauze/paper tape (depending on the size of the wound. A large band-aid can be substituted if there is minimal drainage from the wound (usually by the 3rd or 4th day post-surgery).

- Redness
- Drainage
- Swelling
- Odor
- Worsening pain
